Award of the Tender promoted by Bilbao Kirolak (Bilbao Municipal Sports Institute) for the Drafting of the Execution Project and Construction Management for the rehabilitation/adaptation of the Rowing Pavilion in Bilbao (Bizkaia).
The project rehabilitates a disused warehouse of various heights in an unbeatable location for its intended use. A series of demolitions and cuts result in the volume and surface area necessary to accommodate the installations.
The new uses are arranged in harmony with the structure and keep the essence of the old nave latent. The boat storage hangar with large doors giving direct access to the outside and the rowing pit constitute the heart of the building, complemented by the changing rooms, gym and technical rooms
The existing brick enclosure is dressed in a new layer of metal slats seeking to combine its own industrial identity with a more modern aesthetic, by the urban transformation that the city is undergoing.
